Weather Forecast for Filming this Weekend

This is the weather forecast for Longfield on the 26th of January, tomorrow. I have taken a screen shot from the BBC website to show the hourly weather forecast. We are shooting in Longfield on Saturday, therefore by using this, we can clearly see that their is going to be no rain when we are going to be filming. This is helpful to us becuase it will show continuity, the weather will stay the same throughout the day, not affecting the lighting on the camera too much.

For Sunday in London the weather is similar to Saturday, this is very helpful for us, this is becuase that way in the film seqeunce the continuity will be good and we will not have any problems with the weather.

 

 

On Sunday when we plan to shoot the assassination scene in Byfleet, in my dads Porsche Service Centre. The weather is also looking good for Byfleet so we will not have a problem with the weather. We will have good continuity throughout the film opening sequence.

Permissions

As we were shooting our main part of our opening in Westminister we had to apply for a film permit, below you can see our application for the permit. 

I later got a reply from the City of Westminster and then I contacted Sir to get the needed documents to get an approved permit.

Risk Assessment

This is a risk assement on the possible risks that could occour whilst filming our film. By carrring out a risk assessment we can be aware of the risks involved when going to London and when filming. We can then avoid the risks and we will be prepared if any dangers occour.

Animatic StoryBoard

Here is our storyboard put in to an animatic with a colour gradient, sound effects and backing sound.  We are happy with the outcome and gives it the storyboard a lot of life, it helps us get a really good idea of the whole thriller intro.

Location & Recce

This is a prezi on the Location for where we plan to film our opening title sequence. This will help us to know exactly where we need to go for the filming and where to place the camera for each shot. Alex and Myself took the pictures.

We used our back up Locations:

We used Canary Wharf for the tracking scene, instead of by the River Thames. This is because we thought that Canary Wharf was a lot better suited to our Thriller opening. They are in business clothing therefore it made sense to have the tracking scene located next to Canary Wharf.

Firstly we were going to use a Library for the assassination scene that had a secret room, but we did not manage to get permission for the library so we used the backup location to go to the Porsche Service Centre Byfleet because we could get permission as my dad is the owner, he also opened it for us on a sunday so that it was empty. Also the location suited the plot of our opening scene really well. This location turned out to be a better alternative than our first plan in the library.

Storyboard

Here is our storyboard for our thriller opening, we are really pleased with the outcome as it shots a variety of shots and helps build up and image of what the final piece will look like. The only thing that could be improved is the fact that one of the actors was unavailable to play the 'Target" meaning we are missing around 4 shots, we shall do these when he is available and add it to the storyboard then.

Final Timeline

This is a Timeline for the final plot idea for our group opening title sequence. It shows when things will be shot and where each slate will be on the sequence. This will help us to be more organized when we come to film it, that way we can look at the timeline and see what shot is next, when and for how long. Alex provided some examples for me so that I could present the timeline a bit better.

Influences

We have three films that have influenced our group film idea: Taken, Colombiana, and Salt.

Taken

Taken is the first influence to our group film plot. This is because in the first part of Taken there are a group of bad men that take the two girls that are on vacation to Paris (a big City). The Dad of one of the daughters hunts them down and kills the bad men. This relates to our film plot because there are a group of men that are telling a man to do something that he doesn't want to do. Also the main character is hunting down a man, similar to the daughter’s father in Taken.

Colombiana

Colombiana is all about revenge, we see Colombiana’s parents get killed by a large group of bad men. Because of this we see Colombia want revenge on the people that killed her parents, therefore she hunts them down. The influence that this film had on our plot is that it is one person hunting people down. This create adrenaline and tension, making is a very good thriller. We also had an influence from this film because Colombiana’s uncle is very protective, just like our main character is with his son.

Salt

Another influence to our plot is the Thriller film Salt. This is because in this film Salt is trained to be a secret spy by a man in Russia. She is then expected to kill thousands of people. She is given the task and is expected to complete the task. However, she does not want to do this, and in the process her husband is murdered and she has to leave her normal life. This has influenced our plot because the main character is expected to murder a man he doesn't even know, just because he has been chosen to do the job, similar to Salt, also he has to leave his family at home.

This is now a brainstorm of our previous idea, this is because we had to change the plot to make it more of a Crime/Action Thriller and make it more believable. Consequently, we will need to re-do this brainstorm to match the final plot.
